What went well?
I think that our our finished ident went well due to the editing techniques we used. Our final outcome featured transitions between each different shots which made the ident look more professional and eyecatching. The shots were slow to match the slow beat of the jingle we used for our ident. This created an effect to show each sport thouroughly to show what is previewed on the channe and link to BT Sports corporate identity. The location we chose to film also worked well when it came to filming as it already had rugby posts and a football goal for us to use.
What would you do differently?
If I were to recreate our ident, I would have included a wider variety of sports that are shown on BT Sport such as basketball, tennis, cricket and swimming. This is so that just by viewing an ident, the audience can see the wider variety of sports shown and those who are into different sports find the channel appealing. Furthermore this means that others would not have to research into what sports are shown on the channel as they would see the majority of them in the ident.
What did you enjoy?
I really enjoyed filming our production and the preparation of it. It included who we chose to be featured in our ident, choosing our location and gathering the equipment needed to pursue this. It was a lot more enjoyable than filming previous productions as it was a subject I take interest in.
What have you learnt?
Throughout the making of our production, I have learned what is needed and how much work is put into the rebranding of a channel. First of all when planning, you need to research into the channel and make sure every aspect links to the channels corporate identity. This is important because it gives information out about the channel when it comes to making the final production. I have also learned a lot about what makes a good ident and that you have to take into consideration such as the length, the footage and the editing techniques.
